Eligibility and Application
I am an international student studying in the US. Am I still eligible to apply for the scholarship?
Yes. You do not have to be a US citizen or permanent resident to apply for the Youngnak Scholarships.
I am planning to enroll as part time status. Am I eligible to apply?
No. The eligibility criteria include full time status in the coming academic year.
I received a scholarship last year. Can I apply again?
Yes. As long as you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply.
Can I submit essays in Korean?
No. Please keep in mind that the purpose of the scholarship is to recognize and promote Korean-American Christian leadership.
Academic Transcript
I'm currently a first year college student. Do you require my high school transcript?
Recent college transcripts and current semester enrollment records are required. High school transcripts are not mandatory, but applicants must enter their high school cumulative GPA in the academic history form.
What kind of transcript do you accept?
Official transcripts must be submitted with the application. Only digitally certified official transcripts issued directly by the school or an official transcript provider will be accepted. Scanned copies and unofficial documents are not accepted.
Recipient Notifications
When will the recipient be announced?
Recipients are announced during the second week of July at www.youngnak.com. Honorees receive banquet invitations and must confirm full time status.
How much will an individual award be?
Award amounts depend on the number of recipients. General, Seminary, and CYL scholarships average at least $1,000; the Rev. Ke Yong Kim Memorial averages at least $5,000; the Anna Mission Group averages at least $3,000.
